What exactly is AI?
Let’s keep it simple: Artificial Intelligence is essentially us teaching computers to do things that usually require human brains, like spotting patterns, translating languages, or having a conversation. But it’s important to remember that AI is not actually "thinking" like we do. It only knows what we teach it.
What is Generative AI (GEN AI)?
This is the creative side of AI. It generates brand new things - whether that is text, images, or even code - based on the prompts you feed it. If you’ve ever asked a chatbot to write an email or generate an image from a description, you were using Gen AI.
What is an LLM?
LLM stands for Large Language Model. It’s a massive AI system that has been trained on a colossal amount of text data. Picture a massive digital library that has read almost everything on the internet. Its primary job is to understand how we talk (language patterns), so it can predict the next best word in a sentence. This allows it to chat with you in a way that feels natural.
What is RLHF?
RLHF stands for Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback. This is exactly where I come in! It’s the process of teaching these models how to be genuinely helpful, accurate, and safe. My job is to rigorously test language models, compare their responses, and apply critical thinking to ensure they understand the real-world context of human communication without over-censoring educational or complex topics.
Why does AI sometimes give weird or completely wrong answers?
In the tech world, we call those “hallucinations.” Because AI models are essentially predicting the next best word based on patterns, they don’t actually know things the way humans do. If they lack context, or if their safety parameters are tangled up, they just confidently guess. My job as an evaluator is to catch those errors, correct the logic, and teach the model how to provide accurate, grounded responses.
How do you actually “train” an AI?
It’s less like programming a computer and more like teaching a very literal, highly analytical student. Through RLHF, I give the AI complex scenarios, reviews its answers, and grade them on accuracy, tone, and safety. By consistently showing the model what a good versus bad response looks like, it learns how to navigate nuances (gray areas of communication) over time.
Isn’t AI just going to replace human creativity?
Not at all. AI is a wildly powerful tool, but it doesn’t have a soul. It can process data and generate ideas at lightning speed, but it lacks lived experience, grit, and intuition. I use AI to help me work smarter but the joy, the curiosity, and the actual creativity? That always comes from me.
Why the mix of data evaluation and creative design?
I believe you cannot have data without design. Evaluating AI requires massive amounts of creative right-brain energy to dream up complex scenarios. Designing a strong brand identity requires deep, analytical left-brain research. I approach both sides of my work with the goal of adding warmth and wonder to the digital world.
How do you handle sensitive data and confidentiality?
I am fiercely protective of the people and projects I work with. My professional background is rooted in clinical healthcare documentation, so strict confidentiality and privacy compliance are just hardwired into how I operate. I treat your business with the highest level of care and respect.
Do you only design Squarespace websites?
Yes! Squarespace is my favourite playground. It lets me build custom, bold, beautiful sites that are also incredibly secure. Plus, I want you to feel totally confident making your own simple updates once I hand the site over, and their system makes that a breeze.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
Nope. I love offering flexible support. We can tackle a one-time website build, design a new logo, work on a specific AI project, or set up ongoing digital business support. We will figure out exactly what you need, so you can breathe easier and focus on the work you want to be doing.
